Zombieland - A Brilliant Fusion of Comedy and Horror!!

I love zombie movies.  For some reason seeing a rotting, disgusting former human being munching on other human beings is entertaining to me.  I know a few other people who also enjoy a good zombie movie for the same reason, so I know I'm not totally out of my gourd.

Zombieland pushes the border of good zombie entertainment. It takes a movie style that was honestly becoming a bit boring, mainly consisting of zombie movie rehashes that were so bad they were only good for sitting around and making fun of how bad they were, and infusing comedy into it and making an all around great movie.

The movie doesn't spend time setting up the zombie epidemic, instead it starts out after the major outbreak that started it, showing us a few snipets in flashback. Our hero practices his rules for surviving in zombieland, which are the things people have been shouting out at the screen since zombie movies started, and meets up with three more compatriots, the tough guy played by Woody Harrelson, who seems to be adapting well to zombieland, enjoying putting zombies down and searching for a twinkie, but we find out not all is what it seems with him, and the two girls, who were own their own running scams before, and are now using the same methods to survive. They all meet up and eventually work together to survive.

You can't say too much more about the movie without ruining it for those who haven't seen it yet. There isn't a lot of gore compared to most zombie movies, and in fact the majority of the movie doesn't have a lot of zombies in it, mainly telling the tale of how our heroes meet up, bits of their lives before the outbreak, and how they're managing to survive.

However zombie lovers don't despair, the final part of the film has the epic zombie showdown that we've come to love and expect.

So, I hope I've convinced you to give this movie a go, it's available from most online, or local video stores, or pickup a new or used copy by using the Amazon link below.
